Mama Tilly - Poker Has The Luck

Mama Tilly is without a doubt a band on the rise and with their determination, talent and drive, fate most definitely has some big things a-brewing as this their debut EP, Silhouettes & Footsteps was recorded at Matrix Digital Studio in Wellington, attests.

Thanks to the band Poker Has The Luck from their EP is free to download for a week from December 3rd.

 

Scalper - Airborn Disease

Scalper is Londoner Nadeem Shafi. First seen in Aotearoa New Zealand at WOMAD 1997 as the vocalist for the British band Fun-da-mental. Now based on the wild West Coast of Auckland, having moved here in 2007.

Scalper is Hip Hop like you never heard it before. Moody gritty beats with lyrics that conjure visions of epic proportions. Instrumentation, chopped. Samples, chopped. Beats, chopped. Lyrics brewed and into the pot with you. Electrifying live performances that demand attention.

Scalper will be kicking off 2010 at Parihaka Peace Festival in New Plymouth and releases his debut album "Flesh & Bones" on 8th February 2010. Now thanks to Scalper you can get a taste of the forthcoming album by downloading Airborn Disease free for a week from December 3rd.

Jesse Sheehan - Brothers  

Brothers is the debut single from 2009 Smokefree Rockquest winner Jesse Sheehan.

Jesse cites influences including the songwriters Jeff Buckley, Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake; bands including The Black Keys, The Beatles, Antony and the Johnsons, The Strokes and Radiohead; as well as jazz players such as John Scofield, Wes Montgomery, Thelonious Monk.
