Also announced was Cyanide Records 10th Birthday Bash, a significant milestone for the label.
"In December 1999, Jay and Josh (otherwise known as Bulletproof) got the backing and help of a close friend and began their own record label. It would be a year before the label would master its first release, but when it hit, Cyanide instantly established itself globally as a label with a unique sound and vision.
One that could compete with the well established UK stables. A place where artists were in control of their music."
You can help the label celebrate this milestone and usher in their second decade December 4th at Coherent in Auckland.
We've two songs to suggest to you today, they are:
Timmy Schumacher - Sunrise Feat. Jason Kerrison
Sunrise guest stars the unmistakable voice of Opshop's Jason Kerrison. Jason was passed Sunrise by a mutual friend, and on first listen was inspired by the epic feel of the tune and Schumacher's sterling big-rig production. Thus this unique project was born, resulting in Kerrison guesting on his first ever electronic cross-over tune.
Sunrise is one unforgettable roller-coaster ride with a chorus that you are guaranteed to find yourself singing once it's over.
Bond Street Bridge - Birds
Birds is the first single from Bond Street Bridge's forthcoming sophomore (2nd) album, due for release in early 2010.
In this catchy wee number, Bond Street Bridge, aka Sam Prebble, reflects on the mating habits of New Zealand's paradise shelduck, Tadorna variegata. These striking brown-and-white ducks generally mate for life, and pairs are a common sight in open country in New Zealand.
Prebble says "I spend a lot of time driving around the country for shows and whatnot, and anthropomorphising the wildlife is a good way to pass the time. I have to concede that the birds in this song are probably not really in love, but based on the way they tend to sort of sit next to each other and not really say much, they sure look like they are."
Have a great Thursday
