We've two new releases for you to check out today, the first is the second album from Miriam Clancy and the second is the Definitive Collection from Ray Columbus & The Invaders, which is released to coincide with this weeks NZ Music Awards for which they are being awarded The New Zealand Herald Legacy Award.
Back in the mid-1960s, Ray Columbus and The Invaders were the first-ever winners of the music award now known as the Tui.
Now the trail-blazing rock band's contribution to our nation's popular musical heritage has been recognised with The New Zealand Herald Legacy Award at the 2009 Vodafone NZ Music Awards.
The group has also been inducted in to the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame.
It is very heartening to see our artistic community getting together to help aid those effected by the Samoa Tsunami. Southern AMP the music festival being held in Christchurch next month has joined in and they will be donating a percentage of each ticket sold for the festival to the Pacific-wide appeal to Oxfam New Zealand.
"We have all been deeply shocked and horrified at the images of mass destruction of parts the Samoan Islands and felt that we can easily do something to assist people in re-building their lives by inspiring musicians and music fans of all ages to get involved...", said Southern Amp promoter Neil Cox.

Release(s) Of The Day
Miriam Clancy - Magnetic
After a debut to die for, Miriam now looks ready to dazzle the rest of the known universe with a constellation of truly magnetic new songs that can't help but stick to even the most repellent heart. Yes, Miriam's got some stories to tell.
Along for the ride into the stratosphere, Magnetic has drawn together the stellar talents of members of Supergroove, SJD, Opensouls, Trinity Roots and more. All gravitating around one of the best songwriters this planet has seen in light years. Miriam Clancy will have you tangled in mystery, and at the same time, draw you in with lyrics you'll think were written just for you. But whomever she is singing about on one of the 13 songs on Magnetic, should find it possible to feel even luckier than on her debut Lucky One.
If there's any one thing wrong with Magnetic, it's the possibility that it may render Miriam an Accolade-aholic. And if there's any one thing Magnetic lacks, it's a genre. That's because even after just one listen, any member of the human race will agree that Miriam Clancy may have just invented a new one.
Ray Columbus and The Invaders - The Definitive Collection
The Definitive Collection is a double CD set which includes all the original material ever recorded by the group plus some new live versions of their hit singles.
All tracks with the exception of the live recordings have been previously released on vinyl as Singles, EPs and Albums and latterly there have been various CD releases but none have included all their recorded material in a single release.
The Definitive Collection features 45 digitally remastered tracks including 4 live tracks.
Have a great day
