With a staggering 12 entries in this weeks album charts one has to wonder why The Beatles still hold such appeal in todays music market. What is it about the fab four and their music that after all these years still commands such respect and loyalty from their fans globally?

Electric Wire Hustle - Electric Wire Hustle
Developing their own twist on modern hip hop and psychedelic soul, Electric Wire Hustle introduces a new combination of prodigiously talented NZ musicians and their fresh new sound.
Challenging genre boundaries and preconceptions, the future soul music of Wellington-based Electric Wire Hustle reaches forward while referencing key points of music's past.
The grittiness of hip hop is contrasted with the sensibilities of soul music - forging a new relationship between urban music and the singersongwriter
idiom. Thick drums and percussion layered with synth lines, hints of Fender Rhodes and nylonstringed guitars have your neck snapping while you drink in the evocative vocals of Mara TK.
Their self-titled debut album also features some exciting collaborations with US recording artists Dr Shruman aka Dudley Perkins and Georgia Anne Muldrow. Atlanta-based newcomer Stacey Epps features, as does Billy TK.
Chart Attack
This week the bulk of our locals in the top forty album charts dropped back a few places, Fat Freddy's Drop being the only exception holding onto the number 13 position.
Fly My Pretties and 7 World's Collide are still in the top ten at 7 and 9 this week. Tahuna Breaks slips to 16 and perhaps the oddity this week is the re-entry of Nathan King's album The Crowd at 17 - is this what all those dad's brought with their fathers day gift vouchers?
The last entry from the kiwis in the albums charts comes from the Opensouls which dropped from 19 down to the 31 spot.
Sir Howard Morrison has only DVD in the DVD charts this week; Once In A Lifetime sits at number 2 having dropped one place.
We're down to six singles charting this week from kiwi's; Gin's Oh My stays at number 8, J Williams Stand With You is behind her at 9 and Smashproof's Ordinary Life continues to hold at the number 12 spot.
Dane Rumble's Don't Know What To Do also hasn't moved and is currently at number 22. Kidz in Space's catching Downtime is at number 28 and Kids Of 88's My House is at 36.
The Great NZ Songbook drops one place to 3 on the compilation charts
