Southern Amp is back it was announced yesterday, so those down South or indeed those willing to travel to the garden city of CHristchurch are in for quite a treat come November. With local acts Kora, Salmonella Dub, The Veils and An Emerald City confirmed to play so far.

I have a feeling this year's summer festival session may just be the busiest yet.

We're off to the the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards 2009 Finalists Announcement and Technical Awards Presentation after work today. We'll have the finalists and Technical Awards winners for you sometime tomorrow if the refreshments don't get the better of us.

Pluto - Snake Charmer

After a brief hiatus Pluto are back.

The band recently managed to build its own recording studio (the Wall) and are currently working on their fourth long player.

Their new single Snake Charmer is a taste of things to come.

 

Chart Action

No major changes in this weeks chart.

Last week's A Story debuted for Fly My Pretties at the number 1 position, they drop one place to 2 this week. Fat Freddy's must have had a good sales week as they go up two places to number 10. The opensouls dropped down to number 13.

In the singles chart Gin Wigmore's latest single climbs 14 places to reach number 7.Followed by J Williams at 8 with Stand By You and Smashproof are at number 10 with Ordinary Life.

Dane Rumble, Kids of 88 and Tiki also charted singles in the top 40.

The Great New Zealand Songbook continues to dominate the compilation charts and this week is found at number 4.
