How cool is that?

One of the greatest tributes a musician can be paid is to have the respect and admiration of their peers. One such musician who recently suffered a stroke is Chris Knox. Local and international musicians and fans have come together offering support and good wishes to Chris and his family since the news broke.
Such is the power of music and the bind we have with those who create that which we value so highly. There have been a couple of recent developments outside of the recovery room showing just how highly regarded the man and his music is:
MGMT recently SOLD OUT three dates at the Powerstation in Auckland where they are set to perform next week.
MGMT will now be playing a special licensed/ALL AGES, DJ Set, on Monday July 20th at the Bacco Room, with all proceeds going to Chris Knox in aid of his recovery.
MGMT will be spinning some of their favorite songs to raise money and show their respect for Chris.
Monday, July 20th
BACCO ROOM/Toto restaurant, 53 Nelson St, Auckland. Doors at 8.30pm

Raveneye - Fire & Ice
Initially I wanted to create a few songs for my Grand kids, so they had something of their Poppa once I had left this earthly plane. But it became an obsession, and I could not stop creating songs.
Invercargill based Raveneye was created by Lance Fisher in 2008 as an outlet for his musical pursuits.
Fisher has also been involved in creating music for short films. Last year I was privileged to create music for a short film The Flying Monk. It was placed second in the Florida Film Festival late last year and then won first in Houston Platinum category last month.
Fire & Ice is from Second Wind his debut album. The song is about the preparing of war against demons and witches.
Thanks to Lance you can download Fire & Ice for a week from today.
Enjoy.
