Another weekend is behind us, another lotto draw drawn, a winters storm survived, another headline proclaiming the death of the NZ housing market run in the newspapers (don't worry it'll be back in time for the weekend house related advertising), another recession to endure.
In short Monday can be quite a sobering day.
Thankfully there are always ways and means to perk one up that won't ruin your bank balance nor breach any laws.
We suggest a dose of your favourite music for those times when getting out of bed or leaving the house seems like an insurmountable burden.

Jimmy the Dwarf from C4 television's Jono's New Show has hooked up with The Red Sea Boys to record a new single - Little Jimmy.
The Red Sea Boys insist that, although lower to the ground - Little Jimmy is bigger than we might think in many areas. And whilst the likes of Jono and Dai Henwood might think they're all it, it's Little Jimmy they claim - who is most legit. So they've written a song about him!
The Erin Simpson Show - Gimme What You Got (The Erin Simpson Show Theme)
Erin Simpson is the host of The Erin Simpson Show that airs on TV2 Mon - Fri at 4:30pm. Erin, 26 and born in the Waikato, has performed in many musical theatre productions.
Gimme What You Got is the theme song for The Erin Simpson Show and is Erin's first recorded song.

Iva Lamkum - No
Iva is currently completing her first album and No is the first single.
Not on to do things by halves, Iva has bought in some heavyweights behind her new track. Mixed by Clint Murphy (The Feelers, Opshop, Blindspott, 50 Cent) and mastered by Tom Coyne (Beyonce, Pink, Joss Stone) at Sterling Sound NY.
No features a rich live sound evidencing an upbeat departure from her debut EP.
Miriam Clancy - When I Do
Miriam Clancy has spent the last two years between Great Barrier Island and the USA writing & working on her latest album, Magnetic, which she has recently finished co-producing & recording with Andre Upston.
It is due for release in the coming months and her first new single is When I Do.
Isaac Aesili - With You In My Bed feat. Aaradhna
With You In My Bed feat Aaradhna is Isaac Aesili's second single from his forthcoming album Eye See due out on September 7th, 2009.
It features the luscious vocals of Aaradhna with a sultry delivery and catchy hook. The production hails the 60s complete with symphonic funky horns alongside a heavy R&B beat that is sure to rock the dance floor as well as the airwaves.
Pieter T - Can't Stop Loving You
Auckland based Pieter T, twenty-one years of age, writing and singing since he was fourteen.
Can't Stop Loving You is another R'n'B feel good classic from Pieter, his newest release in association with Chong-Nee and Handmade Records.
